Coloradoans are very proud of their beautiful state and love to show off and encourage all Colorado businesses and products.  There is a well known trend called COLORADO PROUD that points to commodities and corporations located in Colorado.  We are Colorado Proud.  We are John Elway, the Broncos, the Avalanche, the Rockies, the Rocky Mountains, Pikes Peak, the Front Range, the home of America the Beautiful.  Our current sports heroes are Olympian Missy Franklin and skiier Mikaela Shifflin.  From the peaches of the Colorado Western slope to farm produced vegetables on the plains, Colorado is joining ranks to showcase Colorado produced products of all varieties.  The Farm to Table and Ranch to kitchen table movement is gaining recognition as consumers notice that not only are consumables grown in the local area fresher and healthier and taste better, but they love to support the companies sizeable and modest within a closer radius.  Money stays nearer to home and everyone in the area reaps the benefits.  Good for the Colorado economy, being and buying Colorado proud supports us all. Move over California wine region to up and down the Front Range as Brew Country for beer with breweries sprouting up and winning national awards.  Colorado has definitely had a right to be a proud state with the majestic Rocky Mountains for their great beauty and vast ski areas, but now the expression Colorado Proud is attached to products from the magnificent state.  We really like to support and feature all of them and this week we are featuring an Aurora-based gift basket company Baskets by Rita.  This business builds a assortment of baskets for all occasions, but is unique in its Colorado gift baskets.  And they aren't just baskets...handcrafted beetle-kill pine crates have taken the place of baskets as the popular alternative. Unique and filled with products made in Colorado they have become trendy as convention gifts, thank you gifts and are sent not just within Colorado but throughout the United States to feature Colorado.  There are even Colorado wine baskets containing wine, cheese, crackers and all things Colorado.  There's a canvas Colorado ECO bag with Colorado logo and filled with food products grown in the state and Mile-High area.
