Love is in the air and in the Chocolate around the middle of February. Every Valentine’s Day it appears like people give the very same thing. A box of chocolates, a cheesy teddy bear, spa products, sexy undies, jewelry, it’s all so predictable! While nearly all people wouldn’t complain about obtaining a gift from someone they love, there must be more personal ways of proving your love and affection. If you feel like your gifts are becoming gushy from year to year and you want to step it up a notch, why not make something yourself that says that you took the time to create something that comes from your heart. Not only will this mean more, but it will be unique and genuinely convey your feelings in a way that no greeting card can. Here are some ideas that will show you really care. You could Create a coupon book that they can redeem at any time. Include coupons for a free massage, dinner and a movie, a night out at a fancy restaurant, or a day exempt from cleaning. Each coupon should be an opportunity for you to show them you love them by pampering them or cutting them some slack and giving them a chance to relax. These are great ways to show that special someone how much you really care on that one day of the year declared I love you day. There are lots creative ideas for creating romance without spending lots of money such as Make your own chocolate covered strawberries. Dip strawberries in dark, milk, or white chocolate and cover them in sprinkles, chocolate chips, cinnamon, or cookie crumbs. You can also leave them plain for a more classic take. Lay them out on a nice tray in the bedroom, living room, or kitchen and enjoy them together I love Valentines day with all this positive energy of love and romance and caring. If all else fails you could Spend time together. Whether you plan a weekend getaway to a resort and spa or just plan a night alone on the couch, the most important thing you can give to the person you love is your time and attention. Let them know that no matter what you’re doing together, they are the most important person in the world. A friend recently told me that he sent a gift basket to his wife last year for Valentine’s day and she loved it because it contained things that you don’t find in most stores. Great gourmet chocolates, flavored nuts, wine, olives and more great chocolate. It made him look really good and this very romantic holiday. I could have sent him a Valentine's Gift For Your Men. Show your man you care with this classy upscale gold and black striped gourmet gift box. It's filled with all his favorite snacks and a small teddy bear that say's 'I love you more than Chocolate!', Honey roasted peanuts, beef jerky, Chocolove milk chocolate bar, cheddar cheese, crackers, beef summer sausage, buttered popcorn, tortilla chips, medium salsa, chocolate chip cookies, and cinnamon bears. If these ideas have sparked your interest or given you a good starting point for planning out your Valentine’s Day, please pass this along via Facebook or Twitter. College Care Packages Ahh
College Care Packages with Love When I was a teenager my parents would send me off to camp for the summer. The one thing I looked forward to more than letters from friends was a care package from my parents. Some girls got a care package each week packed with junk food, random crap that would make us laugh, and pictures. Even though I did not receive a package each week like some of the luckier campers, I treasured the packages I got more because they were more unexpected and much better created. Since my mother owns a gift basket company, my care packages were never carelessly tossed into a cardboard box, but instead were presented in a decorative basket wrapped in bows. Not only was the presentation incomparable, but my mom’s company has access to products which you can’t buy off the shelves in your local super store. My packages were always packed with gourmet food such as fresh fruit, exceptional chocolate bars, various snack mixes, tea and hot chocolate, and one of a kind cookies and candies. I would always share my baskets with my friends and for years after, my camp friends would ask me where my mom had found specific delicacies that they had only ever found in the contents of my camp care packages. Two months ago I moved out east for school after twenty one years of living in the same state as my parents. Although real homesickness hasn’t set in yet, it has been hard being apart from my friends and family and there are days which are harder than others. A few weeks ago I got a surprise package. I tore the box open to find a gift basket much like the ones my mom used to send me at camp. It contained ‘energy’ jelly beans, fruit and nut mix, gourmet chocolate bars and cookies, some of the best granola bars I’ve ever had in my life, and my bike bell which I had left behind at my parents’ house. It was the most welcome taste of home I could have hoped for and it reminded me that no matter how far from home you are, your family is always there to take care of you. It was the most wonderful surprise I’ve gotten in a while and it reminded me that my family is proud of my accomplishments and goals. As you get ready to send your student back to school this fall, think of the little things you can do to remind them that you care for them. Visit Baskets By Rita’s website to see our collection of care packages including our Oh The Places You'll Go Gift Basket which is the perfect gift for you to show your student how proud you are of them. Oh the Places You'll Go book by Dr. Seuss is the theme for this celebration basket that is great for all ages. For that special person in your life, help them celebrate with our willow basket filled with Dr Seuss book, Colorado Popcorn Company gourmet flavored popcorn, Brent and Sam's gourmet cookies, Ghirardelli chocolates, Nune's mixed nuts, Themed Snack Mix, and other great assorted gourmet treats. Whether for a birthday, graduation, or just because you miss them, a Baskets By Rita gift is the perfect gift for any student who needs a sentimental reminder of home.

Valentine's Beer to Say Be Mine
Everyone knows that Valentine’s Day is the time to communicate your love to your boyfriend. The problem is that it can be certainly very difficult for you women to figure out what to give to your guy. You could always get something hot for yourself and use this as your present to him, but for some lovers this just won’t work. jewelry is the customary gift, but seriously, women like these presents more than your guy does. You could buy him an a new bike, but then you might not hear a word from him for the next two weeks. So, with that in mind what are your other options? Let beer be the answer! I’m fairly confident he will think it’s a awesome gift. Now, don’t just go purchase a six-pack of any normal beer and present it to him in a brown paper bag; only other guys can be so not groovy.
Instead, start up your computer and search for basketsbyrita.com and order a Valentine beer tub to be shipped to his work. This will cost a bit more than that stand alone beer, but it will be SO worth it. Imagine his great surprise when the courier arrives (or FedEx package) with a Valentines beer tubBeer gift for Valentines day full of awesome micro brews and awesome tasting food items. Make sure to have the gift card says something like “I thought you’d love this almost as much as me. See you tonight! Love.” The work group will be jealous over this present. The women will all be saying “oh, how nice” and the guys will be thinking about what uncool thing their girl friend bought them. You can be sure the guys will be thinking “she really know how to buy the right gift!” We can even put a couple extra chocolates in the tub that he can share with you. If he’s really a very nice guy, he’ll share the beer with you. You won't make him feel bad if he doesn't right? Champagne Celebration For Chirstmas
As a true Coloradoan, I have had my share of white Christmases. I often pity people who have never experienced the beauty of snow falling outside a well lit window with glimmering lights reflecting off the snowy terrain. Christmas decorations always seem more becoming when set upon a snowy white setting. While snow is not essential to have a merry Christmas, fine food is a must! A few of my favorite Christmas treats are hot chocolate, peanut brittle and caramels, cookies, dipped pretzels, caramel corn, candy canes, cheese and sausage, hot coffee, and baked goods. The best thing about all of these goodies is that even if I don’t have the time to make them myself, there are loads of good Colorado businesses which make all these Christmas treats not far from where I live. When I need a pick me up to get me in the Christmas spirit or a quick gift to bring with me to a Christmas party, send to my friends and family across the country, or need a merry table topper for my Christmas table, I sign on to www.basketsbyrita.com and purchase their Colorado Christmas Basket. It contains all my favorite Colorado Christmas goodies, bringing Christmas wishes to my friends and family without the hours of struggling in the kitchen to create all your favorite holiday treats. Our Colorado Christmas gift basket is an annual tradition for over 18 years. A fabulous blend of savory and sweet Colorado favorites are brought together in this holiday green willow basket topped off with a festive red and white candy striped bow: This gift selection is also available in an eco-friendly gift bag. At home spa treatment AAH!
A long week of work and courses makes me ready to sit back and take it easy as soon as the weekend arrives. But we all know that the probability of me getting a weekend full of spa like services and peace and quiet is not really probable. Though I’m not working I usually wind up with a number of errands that’s stacked up throughout the week, a house to clean, and a heap of other miscellaneous projects that creep themselves into my life somehow. While I might be able to talk someone into giving me a five minute back rub, I don’t think I’ll have time for a facial and a massage. In this world where we live such fast paced lives, it is almost impossible to sneak away for an hour or two let alone a whole day to just put aside our crazy lives and spend some ‘me’ time. While I can perhaps add in a trip to the tanning salon or a waxing appointment once a month, it’s by no means enough to help me feel like I’ve truly treated myself. When a holiday or a birthday comes around and someone asks me what I want, the first thing that comes to mind is “gift cards” or “a new can opener.” Although these may be wise presents, they are necessities and buying these essentials doesn’t require much sympathy. A present should be a thing you want, not a thing you need. Sometimes we forget our own merit and we need a friend to come in and remind us to take some time for our self. A gift should persuade you to take care of yourself, not help you run yourself further into the ground. Although I can say I wouldn’t have much spare time to arrange a spa appointment even if I received a gift card, I know a few home remedies that will do the trick almost as well. When I find a friend has been working too much and needs a some love, I order them a spa basket from Baskets By Rita to tell them to take a bit of time for their self. Baskets By Rita loads their baskets full of high quality spa products for an all inclusive, at home full spa treatment. The Candle and Bath Gift Basket is a great example of the varieties of products Baskets By Rita includes. Give the Gift of Fine Wine and Cheese Gift Baskets
Throughout human history, wine has been a celebratory drink savored in both social and religious events and rituals. For centuries wine has been savored for luxury, festivity, and religious functions. Wine was historically thought to have healing benefits and red wine is confirmed to be good for heart health. Though not all civilizations drank wine for recreation, almost every world culture has a wine history whether used as libation or medicine. In my life, wine is appropriate for festivity, leisure, and occasionally, as medicine. This fact alone makes wine the right gift for any occasion. Whenever I need a gift when visiting a friend’s home, as a housewarming present, or in order to say “thank you,” wine is my first choice. Wine is not only a fashionable gift, but it’s easy to pair with appetizers, meals, and desserts. Enjoyed in high class society, wine pairings and tastings are a great way to network and spend time with friends. What a great occasion to socialize and learn a thing or two as well!
Recently, I found myself in charge of organizing a relatively large social event. In all the turmoil of making arrangements, I forgot to notify one of the event sponsors of a change in date. The day before the occasion, we became aware of the error when I got a phone call from the sponsor. Because of the miscommunication, they were unable to be involved in the event and had blocked time out of their schedule in vain. My initial response in apology was to send the sponsor a wine and cheese basket from Baskets By Rita. For $150 I was able to send them a basket loaded with a variety of red and white wines, cookies, an assortment of cheeses, smoked salmon, gourmet crackers, summer sausage, olives, dried fruits, caramel corn, candy, snack mix, fine chocolates, mixed nuts, and more. I felt that this would be a gift that could be shared among all of their employees and I hoped it would convey my apologies for the misunderstanding. I would suggest a Baskets By Rita wine basket for any occasion for which wine is suitable. Whether you need to say thank you, send a housewarming gift, apologize, or present a gift when visiting a friend, Baskets By Rita has the perfect wine basket which include Wine and Cheese Gift Basket for the occasion. Our wine and cheese gift basket is the prefect choice for that special someone. Our split willow and rope basket is filled with Rodney Strong Merlot wine, assorted cheeses, crackers, sausage, chocolate bar, mixed nuts and snack mix. Our wine and cheese gift basket is a prefect hotel welcome gift, thank you, anniversary or even a birthday. Want a different bottle of wine just call us.
