As beautiful as this vision of unity may be, it is not the reality. The story of pilgrims and Indians was one of unwelcome friendship. while the Indians supplied the pilgrims with goods and education to survive their first winter the pilgrims gave thanks to them by antagonizing and striking them.

Birthday The Gift Of Life
A few days ago I received fantastic news... I am going to be an auntie (again)! One of my lifelong friends just determined that she's having a baby and in about six months we will all be greeting a newborn baby into this world. The minute she gave me her news I started thinking about a baby shower, welcome gifts, and all the playthings, diapers and outfits that this Child is going to require. I commenced looking on the web for presents to welcome a new newborn and I stumbled across the Bearington Baby collection from Bearington Bear. Bearington Bear has been in business for 14 years and in that limited time they have won more design awards and nominations than any other teddy bear Organization. Not only are their products appealing and soft, but they are made to last. I was intrigued by these features. I don't think there's anything more special to a infant than their favorite teddy bear or security blanket. Often, by the time the child turns six, the teddy bear or security blanket which they've hung on to since birth is so used that it becomes an eyesore that mama would rather not keep around. This is quite sad when you consider all the excellent memories these cuddly items call to mind. Not to mention the security they give to the little child. I believe that paying a higher price on a plush toy that will last far longer is worth every penny. I truly cannot think of a nicer keepsake for my friend than to give her first kid a cuddly keepsake that will still be around long after the child has outgrown it. Relaxation to the Grad
Graduation is a key life event for anyone. Whether graduating from associate's program or obtaining a major certificate, graduation is an achievement worth celebrating. In the United States, achieving 57% of the population between the ages of 3 and 34 are enrolled in some form of educational program. Whether attending cosmotology school, law school, or middle school, these individuals are taking action toward a brighter future. Of this 57%, only several will truly finish high school and then of course postsecondary institutions as well. In 2009, 8.1% of High School Students dropped out of school before graduating. Of those who had started out as Freshman in the class of 2006, approximately 75% graduated. When observing Postsecondary Schools, the number of individuals who graduate are even smaller. In 2001, 38% of eligible students of 2 year establishments graduated along side 65% from 4 year establishments. This demonstrates that it takes much work and perseverance to obtain an education and this is why we should award those who see it through. My friend recently moved from Rhode Island to Colorado to complete his education in a very different part of the country. He is fortunate to attend a university with various campuses nationwide which allows him to transfer his credits easily from one state to the next. He did not move because he was unhappy with the city in Rhode Island or in order to find a new social scene. His only reason for heading to Colorado was so that his family in California could attend his graduation ceremony. My friend is from a big Mexican family and he is the first in his family to graduate from university. For his family this means there will be a huge party that may last several days. Not only will he be surrounded by loved ones and lots of great food, but he can count on the kindness of gifts. Gift giving is an important part of any graduation celebration, because it allows family and friends an opportunity to let the graduate know that they are proud of them. Giving gifts is a form of showing that you support what the graduate is doing for their future as they plan for their future. History Of The Celebration Fathers Day
Did you know that Father's Day has officially only been in existence since 1972. It took 4 presidents and a Maine senator to ultimately make it official. Mother’s Day had been around for approximately 60 years by then. Sonora Smart was the first person to suggest Father’s Day to recognize her Father who was left to raise his 6 children when his wife died giving birth to their 6th child. It was then proposed to complement Mother’s day in celebrating fatherhood and male parenting. At present Father's Day is celebrated on a range of dates around the world and typically involves gifting, extraordinary dinners to dads, and family-focused activities. To help in support of Father’s day young members of the YMCA went to church sporting a rose: a red rose to recognize a living father, and a white rose to honor a deceased one. Oddly enough enough Father's Day was in jeopardy of disappearing from the calendar while Mother's Day was met with enthusiasm, Father's Day was often met with snickering. Not all dads are similar!
